Laundry Attendant

The laundry attendant is responsible for handling, cleaning, ironing, folding, and distributing guest linens, uniforms, and clothing, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, and efficiency. This role supports hotel operations by ensuring a continuous supply of clean and well-maintained clothing and providing excellent service to both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, pressing machines, and ironing equipment, safely and efficiently.

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, press, and package guest laundry, staff uniforms, and hotel linens according to established procedures.

• Inspect linens, uniforms, and garments for stains, damage, or wear and report discrepancies to the supervisor.

• Ensure proper handling and care of guest garments and delicate items.

• Maintain accurate records of guest laundry and uniform transactions when required.

• Distribute clean linens and uniforms to designated departments and locations.

• Monitor laundry supplies and report inventory shortages to the supervisor.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, equipment, and storage rooms.

• Follow hotel policies regarding laundry operations, hygiene, and quality standards.

• Adhere to health, safety, and chemical handling procedures at all times.

• Assist in receiving, sorting, and storing laundry items efficiently.

• Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance requirements promptly.

• Support the team in achieving departmental productivity and quality objectives.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

2. Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or hospitality environment is an advantage.

3. Basic knowledge of laundry operations, fabric care, stain removal techniques, and garment handling.

4. Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.

5. Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.

6. Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines accurately.

7. Strong teamwork and communication skills.

8. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

9. Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, lifting laundry loads, and performing repetitive tasks.

10. Knowledge of workplace hygiene, safety, and chemical handling procedures.

11. Flexible and willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by operational needs.
