Job Description

Role Overview:

The Engineer - Environment performs focused engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributing to broader environmental engineering projects through data analysis, testing, and technical problem-solving.

• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
• Perform detailed and routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
• Work on specific and limited portions of broader engineering assignments

   

• Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered in assigned projects
• Identify discrepancies in results and recommend corrective actions

   

• Provide guidance and support to entry-level engineers

   

• Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with moderate supervision

   

Qualifications

Required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 5-7 years of professional experience in environmental engineering or related technical field
• Demonstrated proficiency in engineering data analysis, technical calculations, and environmental modeling
• Extensive experience with environmental testing procedures, laboratory protocols, and field sampling methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with proven ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on defined project tasks while managing multiple assignments with moderate supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare technical reports and present findings
• Proficiency with engineering software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior-level engineers
• Familiarity with environmental regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices

Preferred

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or significant progress toward licensure
• Project management experience on environmental engineering initiatives
• Experience with environmental impact assessments, sustainability initiatives, or remediation projects
• Knowledge of CAD software or specialized environmental engineering tools and databases
• Experience with quality assurance and quality control procedures in technical environments
