Job Title: Technician, General Assembly Production (Repair)
Job Purpose
The Technician – General Assembly Production (Repair) is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles or components that do not meet quality standards during the general assembly process. The role ensures all repair and rework activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company quality standards, supporting production targets and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Diagnosis
Perform visual and functional inspections to identify defects or non-conformities in vehicles and components.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately assess and confirm issues.
Repair & Rework
Carry out repair tasks on defective vehicles/components in assembly line and workshop areas.
Perform mechanical, electrical, trim, and paintless dent repair (PDR) as required.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment in accordance with SOPs and work instructions.
Quality Assurance
Verify repair quality using checklists, inspection gauges, and company standards.
Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
Record all repair and rework activities in the production tracking system for traceability.
Report quality issues, missing parts, technical failures, and repair status to the Team Leader.
Collaboration & Improvement
Work closely with production and cross-functional teams to identify root causes of defects.
Provide feedback on recurring issues and suggest process improvements.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
Safety & Maintenance
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any malfunctions.
Job Requirements
Education
Technical Diploma in Automotive, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive repair workshops or assembly production environments.
