Junior Accountant

Position Overview

As a Junior Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, assisting in various aspects of financial record-keeping and reporting. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate or early-career professional with a strong educational background in accounting or finance. This role provides an opportunity for professional development and hands-on experience in the field of accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date entries in the general ledger. Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure they are accurately and timely documented.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support the processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments. Assist in monitoring accounts receivable and following up on outstanding payments.
• Sales & Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile Sales and bank statements regularly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as required. Provide support during the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist in special projects and tasks as assigned by senior members of the finance team.

Qualifications

• Internship or relevant work experience in accounting or finance, OR Enrolled and/or Completed; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, Diploma or ACCA, ICMA etc.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must to have and familiarity with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
