Lead Piping Engineer

Job Summary: Leading the piping discipline. Active participation and involvement in proposal and bidding activities. Technical support during construction and commissioning phases as deemed required. Engineering being the core expertise, active involvement on a daily basis during the engineering phase in an EPC Environment on single/multiple projects as the case may be.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring and controlling all engineering activities of the piping discipline
• Interdisciplinary coordination and support team building exercise
• Proactive rather than reactive. Highlight any issues or problems in front of the management so as to help take remedial action on time
• Active participation in progress review meetings, technical meetings, client meetings, and vendor meetings
• Support Procurement-related activities such as raising Material requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Clarification/Evaluation (TBC/ TBE), Draft Purchase Requisitions
• Support bidding team by raising RFQs, Technical evaluation of bids, and cost estimate
• Support construction by responding to construction site-related technical queries (TQ)
• Review and comment on GES plus engineering deliverables on a case-by-case basis
• Ensuring safety and quality of deliverables.
• Participate in Value engineering practices such as value engineering, lessons learned sessions, Risk Assessment/Management Studies and workshops, constructability studies and workshops
• Ensure Customer satisfaction and appreciation, and build on the company image

Requirements

Experience:

• +10 years combined experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Power Industry
• Experience working with GES plus/ EPC Contractors on Saudi Aramco jobs, SABIC and other reputed organizations
• Experience as a support team during pre-commissioning activities

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (BS, BE or B Tech) in Mechanical
• Training and certification courses

2-Technical Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of piping (in plant, interplant, corridor and cross-country) for Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Power, and Water Industries
• Knowledge and sound command over Saudi Aramco, SABIC DEP, Royal Commission Standards, Codes and Practices. HCISS Standards and Regulations
• Knowledge and sound command over International Codes and Standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, JIS, CSA, NFPA, FM, UL
• Prepare and develop Unit Plot Plan, Equipment layout in adherence to spacing standards, piping Plan layout, piping isometrics and pipe support details
• Pipe flexibility analysis, Piping Stress Analysis using Ceaser, Pipe wall thickness calculation and SIS sheets.
• Piping Tie in packages (Hot tap, cold tap, Golden joint and any other taping methods approved and practiced in the industry)
• Develop and prepare specifications and Data sheets for Pipe Material. Pipes, pipe fittings, valves, coating, painting, insulation, specialty items
• Sound knowledge of SPPID, SP3D and extraction of piping bill of materials from SP3D with full traceability from procurement through to Construction
• Sound knowledge of Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and Field instrumentation for a healthy interdisciplinary coordination and overall project engineering delivery.
• Active participation in 3D model reviews internally with cross-discipline and with the client
• Active participation in value engineering practices such as constructability workshops, Risk Assessment/Management workshops, Lessons learnt sessions,
• Actively participated in Safety Studies such as HAZID, ENVID
