JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

Performs aircraft maintenance, component servicing and Bay support activities to the T-21 Aircraft Egress Systems. Provides On the Job Training (OJT) function and Production Inspections. Troubleshoots, inspects, removes – installs, repairs, modifies, and operates all Egress related aircraft systems, components and associated support and test equipment.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Maintaining good engineering practice and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Egress Maintenance Shop
· Prepare items for calibration within his work area
· Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed
· Have a thorough knowledge of Aircraft Safety devices and Aircraft operating areas
· Ensure compliance with tool control and the KFAA SAFO program
· Support deployments to other bases within and out of KSA when required and be able to prepare equipment to support these deployments
· Act as MIIP on any aircraft or ground support technical related issues
· To provide technical activities in support of KFAA mission statement and aircraft servicing programmes through carrying out Workshop support equipment: servicing, fault troubleshooting / rectification, modifications, inspections / evaluations of components / test / support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance.
· To provide technical specialty support in the: evaluation, interpretation, determinations of requisite corrective actions, performance and operational status of specialty specific aircraft systems, components, test – support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance.
· To provide informal and formal On the Job Training (OJT) for both RSAF and BAE Systems Saudi National personnel to enable either RSAF or civilian Saudisation of PC21 Intermediate Maintenance operations.
· To obtain and maintain certifications so as to support speciality and aircraft maintenance functions.
· Able to acquire user expertise and become conversant with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system –MIRO Gold.
· Able to understand and comply with the RSAF FOD and Safety Programme.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential:
· A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA,
· Will be able to demonstrate experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering.
· Have substantial post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).
· Have completed a PC21 Aircraft Systems Training courses or similar appropriate to specialties.
· Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels
· Be able to work in close harmony in a mixed EE/SN workforce
· Must have an understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
· The successful candidate, Saudi or Expatriate must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level, prior to starting the new role or commencing employment in KSA. SCE membership must be maintained throughout their employment in this role.
Desirable:
· A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to his work area
· An understanding of the RSAF Operation and working practices
· Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS and an understanding of M&CA processes.
· Must be able to work on his own initiative to resolve complex technical issues
· Must be computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
