Quality Control (Quantity Surveyor)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspect and verify soil quality, grading, and drainage to ensure proper site conditions prior to landscaping works.

2. Review and approve plant materials (species, size, and health) in compliance with project specifications.

3. Ensure proper planting methods, spacing, alignment, and high-quality turf installation.

4. Supervise and inspect irrigation system installation, including pipes, valves, sprinklers, and drip systems.

5. Conduct pressure testing and leakage checks for irrigation pipelines to ensure system integrity.

6. Verify irrigation coverage, water distribution, and overall system performance.

7. Prepare and submit material technical submittals for approval, including plants, soil, and irrigation materials.

8. Develop and submit method statements for landscaping and irrigation activities.

9. Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) in accordance with project specifications.

10. Raise and manage Material Inspection Requests (MIR) for incoming materials.

11. Raise and follow up on Work Inspection Requests (WIR) for completed site activities.

12. Maintain inspection reports, test records, and all quality-related documentation.

13. Prepare Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals for irrigation systems and landscaping works.

    Qualifications
    * A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
    * Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, with demonstrable experience in quality control.
    * Experience within the landscaping, horticulture, or general contracting sectors is highly desirable.
    * Strong knowledge of construction materials, landscaping techniques, and quality assurance principles.
    * Proficient in cost estimation, budget management, and contract administration.
    * Meticulous attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    * Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
