Senior Transportation Systems Engineer (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

• Lead the review and approval of transit system designs, technical submittals, and interface documentation, ensuring compliance with the D&B Contract and Employer Requirements.
• Coordinate and oversee system integration across signalling/ATC, telecoms, rolling stock, traction power, PSDs, SCADA, depot systems, and station systems.
• Provide technical leadership during testing & commissioning activities, including FAT, SAT, integration tests, system demonstrations, and trial running.
• Monitor system‑level performance, ensuring compliance with RAMS targets, operational requirements, and safety standards for automated metro operations.
• Participate in inspections, audits, NCR processes, and quality assurance activities to ensure correct installation, configuration, and integration of transit systems.
• Assess technical risks, interface issues, and design changes, ensuring impacts on system performance, integration, and operational readiness are effectively managed.
• Coordinate closely with PMCM teams, D&B Contractor disciplines, system suppliers, O&M Entity, and Employer stakeholders to resolve system issues and align objectives.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, system assessments, integration updates, and progress documentation to support PMCM reporting and Employer decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Railway Engineering, or related discipline, with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in rail or metro transit systems engineering, covering signalling, telecoms, rolling stock interfaces, power systems, and system integration.
• Strong understanding of system integration principles, interface management, and interdependencies in complex, multi‑system automated metro environments.
• Proven ability to review and validate technical submittals, interface control documents, test plans, NCRs, and commissioning deliverables.
• Familiarity with RAMS frameworks, safety standards (e.g., EN 50126/50129), and performance requirements for UTO metro systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities to assess risks, evaluate system behaviour, and implement effective engineering solutions.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills within large, multi‑contract infrastructure projects.
• High level of professionalism, technical rigor, and adaptability required to manage complex system integration challenges in a metro megaproject environment.
