Human Resources Generalist

Overview & Responsibilities

This position reports to the Regional HR Manager – EMA, in the provision of a pragmatic, proactive and business‑focused HR services to the regional customer base. The incumbent will play a key role in being the first level contact for employees and leaders at the assigned location and will be responsible for the delivery of HR operations such as recruitment, learning and development, and government reports, and will act as a support to local business leaders and employees within the region.

Local Job Responsibilities

• Supports the Regional Human Resources Manager (HRM) in recruiting qualified talent in line with business plans by communicating with HR service partners and hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
• Supports the HRM in reviewing and implementing an effective onboarding and induction program for all new hires.
• Conducts initial registration, manages changes, and completes termination action for all employee benefits in line with established policies.
• Works with the HRM and line manager to encourage a learning culture through identification of training needs, registration of training as per individual plans, processing of training requests, review of learning processes and approaches, and application and monitoring of training grants (e.g., online learning, classroom training, rotation programs). Maintains accuracy of training plans and records.
• Gets involved in the development, implementation, maintenance, and clarification of HR policies and approaches related to HR practices.
• Ensures accuracy of HRIS data by capturing all changes in the system promptly.
• Leads local committee meetings in line with statutory requirements.
• Works with site leaders to deliver employee engagement activities (e.g., wellness program, festival celebrations, employee communication).
• Supports the HRM in conducting workplace investigations.
• Supports site leaders in the annual performance management and compensation management process.
• Acts as the first line of contact for employee grievances and assists managers in achieving effective solutions to maintain a conducive workplace.
• Manages contracts with vendors to ensure timely renewal of services (e.g., time & attendance system, insurance, training vendors) to avoid disruption.
• Maintains up-to-date employee records digitally and in hard copy.
• Works with the HRM, site leaders, and local authorities to obtain necessary government approvals from the Department of Labour as required (e.g., introducing new policies or benefits, changes to policies).
• Supports site leaders in the management of the site BCP plan in case of emergencies or government advisories.

Regional Activities

• Participates in providing HR support across the region on HR‑related matters in the absence of the HRM.
• Works with the wider HR team on HR‑related process and policy improvements.
• Participates in regional or global HR‑related projects and requests, such as process improvement, wellness, health, and safety initiatives.
