System Engineer - Defence

Westlakes Recruit is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the delivery of a major Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) program in Riyadh. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a complex, multi-domain defence initiative requiring deep expertise in systems engineering, integration, and technical oversight. Please note: This role is based on-site in Riyadh and therefore requires candidates who are willing to relocate. Key Responsibilities • Engage with stakeholders, end users, and technical teams to elicit, capture, and validate requirements at operational, system, and subsystem levels. • Translate high-level operational concepts and mission needs into clear, testable technical requirements and user stories. • Conduct requirements analysis, decomposition, and traceability to ensure alignment with project objectives and standards. • Identify and manage integration points and dependencies across C5I subsystems, legacy systems, and external partners. • Support the development and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and integration plans. • Collaborate with systems architects, engineers, and program managers to ensure coherent system design across hardware, software, and networks. • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and change management activities. • Contribute to test planning, verification & validation (V&V), and acceptance to ensure compliance with requirements. Requirements

• Proven experience in requirements engineering or business analysis within complex defence or C5I projects. • Strong understanding of systems integration principles and managing interdependencies in multi-domain programs. • Familiarity with systems engineering standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288, INCOSE guidelines) and requirements management best practices. • Ability to work across technical disciplines (software, hardware, networks, security, human factors). • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools or traditional requirements management tools. • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Desirable Skills • Experience within C5I or defence platforms, particularly land environments. • Knowledge of enterprise and system architectures (e.g., DoDAF, NAF). • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or DevSecOps delivery environments. • Understanding of information assurance or cybersecurity requirements.
