Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform

Responsibilities

• Write reliable, secure, and scalable code for Lithic’s product platform while minimizing technical debt.
• Improve system reliability and participate in the team’s on-call rotation.
• Own projects end to end, including API key management, reliability, audit logging, and search initiatives.
• Lead improvements to team systems and processes while keeping stakeholders aligned.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience building production backend systems, ideally including public-facing APIs at scale.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Rust and ability to understand systems written in Python and Java.
• Experience with API design fundamentals, including versioning, backward compatibility, and schema-driven development.
• Ability to design systems from scratch and own product development from inception through launch.
• Strong written communication, product thinking, practical decision-making, and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Experience working in a remote, async-first team across time zones.
• Interest and experience in using AI tools to improve productivity.
