Field Service Technician II

Job Overview

As an Electronics Hardware Technician, you will support our international Product Hospital operations, focusing on product failure analysis and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Test, repair, convert, and troubleshoot SEL products to the component level.
• Provide technical support for SEL products to staff and customers.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively within an international team environment.
• Develop and maintain expertise in SEL processes and products to ensure quality and integrity.
• Train junior department personnel in troubleshooting techniques.
• Implement department objectives under the direction of your immediate supervisor.
• Model and apply SEL values, principles of operations, and World Class Manufacturing principles.
• Understand, create, and simplify SEL processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Strong English reading, technical writing, and speaking skills.
• Two‑year electronics engineering technology degree or equivalent.
• Basic working knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
• Familiarity with modern test equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
• Negative drug test results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Component level troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of SEL equipment.
• Technical presentation skills.
• Data analysis skills.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 35 pounds occasionally.
• Sit and stand for at least 8 hours.
• Vision correctable to 20/30 or better.
• Ability to differentiate color.
• Use of computer keyboard devices.
• Reach.
