Project Manager - Oil & Gas Construction

Job Summary

The Project Manager will lead end-to-end construction management for large-scale Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, and Fertilizer plant projects. The role requires strong technical, contractual, financial, and leadership capabilities to ensure successful execution from project start to closeout while managing large multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle construction execution across Civil, Buildings, Steel Structures, Underground & Aboveground Piping, Mechanical Equipment, Electrical, Instrumentation, Painting, Insulation, and Pre‑Commissioning.
• Manage subcontracting companies and ensure complete alignment with contract obligations.
• Develop and implement effective project execution plans with constructability reviews and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Oversee project financials, including cash flow planning, invoicing, procurement approvals, and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure smooth cash inflow/outflow with strong commercial decision‑making without exposing the company to financial risk.
• Manage a direct construction workforce of 4,000+ personnel along with company‑owned construction equipment.
• Oversee resource planning, time office activities, payroll processes, and manpower allocation.
• Coordinate closely with project camp administration teams for workforce accommodation management.
• Lead project meetings with client/owner representatives, supported by accurate progress reporting and assessments.
• Handle challenging/aggressive clients professionally while strictly maintaining contractual boundaries.
• Review and finalize project closeout requirements, documentation, and handover deliverables.
• Ensure continuous follow‑up with all disciplines and departments to maintain progress without delays.
• Guide HR teams in workforce retention, discipline, and manpower planning.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and planning across all project activities.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 20 years in Oil & Gas construction, with successful execution of large refinery, petrochemical, and fertilizer plant projects.
• Strong background working with major clients such as Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, Qatar Energy, and experience in CIS regions.
• Proven ability to independently manage multi‑disciplinary projects from start to completion with consistent career track (no frequent job hopping).
• Expertise in project contracts, subcontractor management, procurement processes, and cash flow control.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills with strong team‑building capability.
• Strong understanding of industrial construction workflows and contractor/subcontractor interface management.
