ABOUT THE JOB

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Project Director to join our Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh. This opportunity lies within our Infrastructure Division and requires specific expertise in working on civil engineering and transportation projects, particularly those involving roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban environments.

As a Project Director, you will lead a multi-disciplined team and be responsible for providing direction and management for every phase of the project to ensure on-schedule completion within budget and in accordance with the contractual obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and mentor the project teams, providing guidance, motivation, and direction to ensure efficient project execution and adherence to the timeline.
- Oversee and monitor the contractors and subcontractors activities to ensure successful completion of delivery as per contract requirements, specifications, and timelines.
- Oversee day-to-day on-site construction operations and advise on technical, logistical, and administrative issues to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Lead periodic meetings with the contractors planning teams to ensure successful delivery in line with contract requirements, specifications, and timelines, and in coordination with other assets of the wider program.

Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute project plans aligned with the client objectives, ensuring clarity in project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Stakeholder Management
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, client representatives, contractors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Assurance
- Maintain rigorous quality standards, overseeing the implementation of best practices and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Budgeting and Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and procurement processes to optimize project efficiency while controlling costs.

Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.

Health, Safety and Environment
- Manage Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) programs in coordination with the client to ensure worker safety and compliance with HSE construction requirements.

Reporting
- Develop weekly and monthly progress reports including, but not limited to, progress made in each key area, analysis of progress against the overall program, explanation of delay causes, analysis of KPIs, and assessment of quality issues to provide the client with a clear view of overall progress.

ABOUT YOU

- Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field preferred, with membership of a relevant chartered institution.
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification preferred.
- Over 20 years total experience. Experience as a Project Director or Project Manager mainly in a consultancy environment. Candidates with exclusively contractor-side experience will not be considered.
- Proven experience in one or more major road projects. Candidates without clear road experience will not be considered.
- Advanced level of English language. Basic knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
- Strong report writing, interpersonal, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, autonomy, flexibility, and technical rigor.
- Willingness to work in a multinational firm and multicultural environment.

Additional Requirements
- Transferable Iqama in case of non-Saudi nationals.
- Based in Riyadh.
- Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership.
