Commodity Buyer – Indirect Material Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Commodity Buyer – Indirect Material to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Carries out request for Quotations, Bid Analysis and supplier recommendations in agreement with Commodity Manager;
- Executes measures in the area of commodity reporting and performance measurement;
- Responsible for everyday communication with suppliers;
- Conducts cost analysis activities with Cost Analysis Team;
- Ensures regular communication with internal, external interfaces;
- Carries out contract management, incl. contract data maintenance;
- Develops and updates templates, tools and standards in conjunction with the Competence Center;
- Surveys the local procurement markets, informing the Commodity Managers of relevant trends/developments;
- Provides assistance to the Commodity Managers for tenders, regular audits and supplier evaluations;
- Executes supplier visits/audits with Supplier Quality Engineers;
- Troubleshoots (supports technical and time-critical ad-hoc requests/requirements);
- Negotiates with regional suppliers (new business decisions, annual price and savings negotiations) in agreement with Commodity Manager;
- Manages Engineering Change Process in production phase (i.e. Process “Make & Deliver”).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience;
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
