The Contracts Manager manages contract administration staff and provides guidance on complex contracts. Prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and administers commercial and government contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Our company is looking for a Contracts Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply KPI system / indicators to measure supplier performance, set up by central Contract Management / Procurement department;
  • Close contracts, manage litigation (including investigations for dispute management);
  • Client liaison and professional client relationship;
  • Security advice to clients;
  • Interface with Legal and Risk Management to manage, control and report on legal risk;
  • Feedback on Monthly Income Statement and Analyzing with cost saving proposals;
  • Ensure all BPC and SASOL SOPS are followed;
  • Incident Management;
  • Ensure training takes place as and when required;
  • Ensuring that all companies SOPs are followed;
  • Initiative to approach client pro-actively on operational issues;
  • Assist in the preparation of Monthly Progress and any ad-hoc Reports as required by the Employer or his Assistant;
  • Assist in the review of contractual notices of claims and providing contractual advice to the Project delivery teams where appropriate;
  • Assist in the preparation of Contract change and Variation Orders;
  • Ensuring that the requirements of the Contract Documents are implemented throughout the Contract period.

Requirements:

  • Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office;
  • Relevant experience as a Contract Manager or similar position;
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Projects;
  • Must have experience in gas and oil industr;
  • Willing to work for long hours;
  • Relocation costs will be for incumbents own accounts;
  • BSc: Civil Engineering;
  • Own reliable transport;
  • Bilingual (English and any other South African Language);
  • At least 06 to 08 years proven Management experience;
  • Extensive procurement contract experience;
  • Experience working with Concrete, Water Waste Treatment and Water;
  • BSc in Construction Management Degree;
  • Expert knowledge and skills relating to contract management and procurement.
