Develop plans for surface transportation projects, according to established engineering standards and state or federal construction policy. Prepare designs, specifications, or estimates for transportation facilities. Plan modifications of existing streets, highways, or freeways to improve traffic flow.

Our company is looking for a Design Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Attends pre-bid meetings and site inspections, as required, for the design and technical aspect of the proposal;
  • Develops and implements effective changes to the Design Department;
  • Reviews and understands the Bid Document issued by the client;
  • Provides economical and realistic designs;
  • Ensures that the project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to the approved budget, time frame and corporate goals;
  • Ensures compliance to approved department processes, authored and update procedures in line with Quality Management Systems/ISO Standard;
  • Supports Marketing & Project Assistance group in lead generation and sales;
  • Performs design conceptualization, scheduling, checking and evaluation as per client’s requirements;
  • Manages staffs’ day-to-day performance of their jobs;
  • Attends leadership seminars and training related to technical development.

Requirements:

  • Team Player;
  • Extensive skills in Project Management, Structural Design for buildings, foundations, infrastructure;
  • Familiar with modern computer modelling & analysis applications;
  • Willing to handle Metro Manila projects;
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the design of MEP Engineering Services;
  • Member of PMI or APM or equivalent professional body of Project Management;
  • Familiar with design to international and local standards;
  • Preferably with experience in an industrial plant, jetty, ports, harbor, general building works;
  • Able to work with minimum level of supervision;
  • International experience is desirable but not essential;
  • Degree Qualified and/or with relevant experience working towards being a Chartered Engineer;
  • Good presentation skills and experience. Ability to gain confidence and trust, through strong technical communication, good interpersonal skills;
  • Familiar with the assessment and calculations of Engineering design;
  • At least ten years in the same capacity from a construction or design company;
  • Competent at coordinating with the overall requirements of MEPF system designs and other aspects of building engineering.
