General Manager: Credit Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a General Manager: Credit to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that the Bank complies with legislative and regulatory requirements in the conduct of its lending activities;
  • To manage business relationships with parties that Credit department interfaces with, including those to whom certain services have been outsourced;
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements with respect to reporting obligations pertaining to the lending portfolio;
  • To build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at management level;
  • Manage department’s activities in line with approved budget;
  • To keep abreast of new industry developments within the insecured loan and credit environment;
  • To contribute towards the development of products that meet market demands;
  • To manage staff in terms of performance management, skills development, motivation & morale, etc;
  • Review and ensure compliance with approved credit granting mandates;
  • To align credit strategy to ensure achievement of the business objectives set for the Credit division;
  • To ensure that delivers on set targets (from a quality & quantity perspective) on all its lending products;
  • To contribute towards the overall corporate strategy of the Bank.

Requirements:

  • Bcom Honours degree in Finance and Related Disciplines;
  • 10-12 Years’ experience in credit and sales experience in a financial institution;
  • Matric;
  • Experience in dealing with rapid and complex change;
  • 5 Years Managerial experience in a strategic role.
