Our company is looking for a Security Officer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide secure storage for guest oversized items;
  • Conduct thorough investigations of all cases of losses through suspected theftpilferage, fraudulent activities and malicious behaviour;
  • Investigate and report all allegations of theft, criminal damage and other incidents;
  • Maintain the Security Log Book and Incident Reports;
  • Ensure safe passage of cash transfers within the hotel;
  • Control the Goods pass out procedure for any items purchased, loaned, or otherwise legitimately obtained;
  • Carry out random audits of operations in other departments to check for unreported losses;
  • Maintain system that records the issue and receipt of departmental keys;
  • Identify operational areas and employee habits that are vulnerable to theftpilferage and enhancing loss minimisation measures in these areas;
  • Report any maintenance and, or, hazard issues to the supervisor on duty;
  • Responsible for checking goods received out of hours;
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to loss control;
  • Formulate loss detection procedures and continuously enforce them;
  • Preparation of security documentation and financing contracts;
  • Ensuring accurate reporting of security held for business and Return purposes.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate and above;
  • Full-Time position(s) available;
  • SIA trained and licensed;
  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s/College Degree, Military background and experience is an advantage;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Baccalaureate Degrees related to Military or Police Operations and or Licensed Security Professional;
  • Ability to work on their own or in teams;
  • Matric;
  • Good grooming standards;
  • Preferably Certified in Basic Occupational, Safety and Health (BOSH) training;
  • Has good Integrity and professionalism;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification;
  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • At least 5 YRS EXPERIENCE of working experience in the related field is required for this position;
  • Ability to work under pressure, keeping calm in emergency situations.
