Our company is looking for a Staff Captain to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Crew appraisal process;
  • Designated as the Company’s representative for Crew welfare;
  • Senior Management Team member and Head of the Deck Department;
  • Garbage Management supported by Environmental Officer;
  • Head of the Deck Department;
  • Onboard Emergency Coordination & Response (Central Command);
  • Is the Captain’s deputy and must be able to assume command of the vessel at any time;
  • Ballast management maintenance, notifications, exchange, operations supported by Environmental Officer;
  • Crew compliance with safe working practices;
  • Ship’s stress and stability, damage control calculations;
  • Efficient operation of the Key System supported by Chief Security;
  • Ensures that international and port authorities’ health and safety standards are met;
  • Deck Department Inventory Control supported by responsible Officers;
  • Monitors the ship’s certificates;
  • Public Health Monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Problem Solving;
  • Possess a valid passport and when possible a seaman book copy;
  • Excellent management skills;
  • Good command of German language;
  • Stress Tolerance;
  • Master’s degree or Polytechnic degree of technical ship operations;
  • Strong leadership skills and previous cruise ship experience;
  • National Certificate of Competency (Master Licence);
  • Fluent English, oral and written. Any additional European language is considered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French);
  • Certificate of Competency IMO II/2 + passengers ship familiarisation;
  • A recognised medical certification is required before starting to work on board.
