OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION: 

The Movement Coach provides a comprehensive, one-on-one and group/classes-based Movement, Holistic, Wellness Activities and Fitness experiences designed to support guests in achieving physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Acting as a vital link between the guest and Asaya Spa, the Movement Coach oversees guest needs throughout their wellness journey, ensuring personalized service, recognition, and continuity across visits. This role combines personal training, movement facilitation, guest engagement, and operational excellence, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and hospitality. The Movement Coach embodies Rosewood’s culture of intuitive service and

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Movement, Fitness & Wellness Delivery 

  • Design and deliver customized personal training, fitness, mobility, holistic and functional movement programs based on individual assessments, goals, and health considerations. 
  • Conduct complimentary and chargeable group and private sessions across disciplines including Yoga, Pilates, Aerial Yoga, Strength Conditioning, Mobility Flow, Aquatic Fitness, Personal Training and other Wellness Activities. 
  • Facilitate Sound Healing, Meditation, and Holistic Movement experiences, including Sunrise Awakening Flow and Sunset and others Wellness Classes/Activities. 
  • Integrate mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic awareness into sessions to support recovery, emotional grounding, holistic wellbeing and other Wellness ClassesActivities. 
  • Provide in-depth guidance on fitness equipment usage, lifestyle management, and safe movement practices. 

Guest Experience & Personalization 

  • Deliver courteous, professional, and flexible service at all times, anticipating guest needs and maintaining positive guest relations. 
  • Establish meaningful rapport with guests, ensuring recognition, continuity of preferences, and personalized experiences on return visits. 
  • Escort arriving guests to requested areas (Asaya Lounge, Fitness, Social House, Changing and Treatment rooms and Hammam) when required. 
  • Respond confidently to guest enquiries regarding Asya Spa facilities, wellness programs, fitness offerings, and the broader resort. 
  • Welcome guests with genuine warmth and professionalism, creating a calm, refined first impression aligned with Asaya and Rosewood standards. 
  • Ascertain treatment preferences and timing, recommending the most suitable Therapist/Movement Coach, Consultant, Visiting/Residential Practitioner and proactively offering additional or complementary treatments to maximize guest experience and revenue. 
  • Collect and record all essential guest details to ensure smooth reconfirmation and personalized service. 
  • Provide facility orientation to first-time guests, including correct attire, Asaya Spa etiquette, and treatment-specific guidance. Collaboration & Communication 

Collaboration & Communication 

  • Act as a bridge between the guest and the Asya Spa team, communicating guest progress, feedback, or concerns to the Spa Management Team. 
  • Collaborate with Spa, Nutrition, Wellness, Retreat and Visiting/Resident Practitioners teams to deliver integrated wellbeing journeys and signature programming. 
  • Interact with other hotel departments to facilitate specialized guest services and seamless experiences. 
  • When required, support daily Asaya Spa operations by coordinating with Therapists, Attendants, Wellness Concierges, Visiting/Resident Practitioners, Anchor Coaches, and Spa Management Team to ensure readiness of all guest-facing areas, including Atelier, Treatment Rooms, Hammam, Wet Areas, Fitness Facilities, Lounges, Consultation Rooms, and Changing Areas. 
  • Ensure sufficient stock levels of towels, robes, sandals, and amenities; coordinate deliveries and replenishment with Purchasing and Housekeeping as required. 
  • Ensure dirty linen is sent to Laundry and clean linen is collected regularly. 
  • Follow correct manual handling procedures at all times, including the use of trolleys when moving goods. 
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and presentation of Atelier, lounges, Asaya Lounge, Treatment rooms, Hammam, and waiting areas to luxury standards. 
  • Open and close Asya Spa facilities as required and perform shift handover duties. 
  • Cover Wellness Concierge and Attendant shifts when operationally required. 
  • Provide operational support to the Recreation and Explores team’s when required, assisting with guest check-ins, inquiries, and service coordination to ensure a seamless arrival and departure experience aligned with Rosewood standards. Safety, Compliance, Emergency Procedures & Standards 
  • Adhere strictly to KSA regulations, health and safety standards, Fire Life Safety, and emergency procedures and Rosewood’s Forbes and LQA service benchmarks. 
  • In the event of a fire alarm or emergency, calmly notify the department and ensure evacuation to the designated assembly point in line with hotel policy. 
  • Handle emergency situations calmly and report incidents promptly to management and security. 
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with all Rosewood and Asaya Spa SOPs, service standards, and operating procedures Use all equipment correctly and only as intended; report any damage or malfunction immediately. 
  • Check the condition of Asaya Spa facilities and equipment and report any damage or hazards immediately to the Supervisor or Spa Management Team or Engineering team. 
  • Respect guest privacy at all times, particularly in changing rooms and wet areas. Operations, Cleanliness & Facility Standards 
  • Inspect Fitness, and Movement/Yoga areas at the start, during, and end of each shift to ensure full compliance with established standards. 
  • Maintain exceptional levels of cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and presentation across all assigned areas. 
  • Check, replenish, and distribute towels, linen, and amenities as required for fitness, movement and wellness services. 
  • Monitor equipment condition, report damages immediately, and always ensure safe operation. 
  • Perform opening and closing procedures in line with shift requirements. 
  • Assist guests in the fitness area with all fitness-related needs. 

Training, Standards & Professional Conduct 

Attend and actively participate in all required trainings, briefings, and meetings. 

  • Maintain full knowledge of departmental SOPs, Spa features, equipment, therapies, and operating standards. 
  • Maintain valid Personal Training and Wellness Services certifications through ongoing education. 
  • Uphold Rosewood AMAALA grooming, uniform, and personal hygiene standards at all times. 
  • Demonstrate calm, courteous, and gracious behavior, even under pressure. 
  • Undertake any reasonable tasks or secondary duties assigned by Spa Management Team. 

General Duties – Asaya Spa Associate Standards 

Act as a brand ambassador, consistently reflecting Rosewood AMAALA’s values, culture, and 

service philosophy. 

  • Maintain impeccable grooming, personal hygiene, correct uniform, and name badge at all times. 
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with the Spa Management Team, and colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations. 
  • Report guest feedback, comments, or complaints promptly to Spa Management Team. 
  • Liaise effectively with other hotel departments to support seamless guest experiences. 
  • Foster positive, cooperative working relationships across all teams. 
  • Report for duty punctually and attend all required briefings, meetings, and training sessions. 
  • Maintain positive, cooperative working relationships with colleagues across all departments. 
  • Demonstrate a positive, motivated attitude and exercise self-control at all times. 
  • Undertake any reasonable tasks or secondary duties assigned by Spa Management in support of smooth operations and exceptional guest experience. 
  • As the hotel’s level of business varies considerably, there is a need for flexibility in attitude, approach and working hours. 

HEALTH, SAFETY & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Take reasonable care of personal health and safety and that of others in the workplace. 
  • Fully comply with the Hotel’s H&S policies, procedures, and operational instructions. 
  • Report hazards, incidents, and work-related injuries immediately. 
  • Participate in H&S planning, training, inductions, and safety briefings as required. 
  • Never misuse or interfere with safety equipment, machinery, or PPE. 

ACCOUNTABILITY 

  • Accountable for compliance with Rosewood AMAALA policies, H&S procedures, and applicable legislation.
  • Responsible for personal conduct, safety, and contribution to a safe and harmonious workplace. 
  • Reports to the Spa Supervisor or Wellness Manager.

Whist working for the company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the company, guests and associates. It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the company, guests and employees, unless otherwise stated. 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

Experience 

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Movement Coach / Fitness Trainer in a 5-star hotel, luxury resort, or wellness retreat. Education & Certifications 
  • High school diploma required. 
  • Personal Trainer Diploma or License (mandatory). 
  • Professional certifications in Fitness, Yoga, Pilates, or related disciplines (ACE, NASM, Yoga  Alliance, Stott Pilates). 

Mandatory Technical Competencies

  • Qualified to conduct Personal Training sessions. 
  • Proficient in Aerial Yoga. 
  • Skilled in multiple yoga styles: Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Yoga Nidra. 
  • Able to facilitate Sound Healing and Meditation sessions. 
  • Thorough knowledge of fitness equipment and program design. 

Languages 

  • Fluent in spoken and written English. 
  • Additional languages are an advantage. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Able to stand and move throughout the Asaya Spa and wellness areas for extended periods. 
  • Capable of bending, reaching, and handling light physical tasks as required. 
  • Must be able to always communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.
