Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Engineer – Electrical Engineering

Role Type: NES Contractor

Contract Duration: 12 months (may change as per need).

Location: Baker Hughes Facility, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Science Park (KASP), Saudi Technology & Innovation Center, Dhahran Techno Valley, Dhahran 04‑31261 Saudi Arabia.

Role Summary

Will be responsible for providing expert technical input and organizational input to electrical engineering activities on a wide range of projects from studies and design to troubleshooting, commissioning, and decommissioning.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical control cabinet designs and produce all necessary documentation according to industry and customer requirements.
• Use MicroStation CAD and Autodesk Inventor to create, revise, and review project drawings (system interconnect, power wiring, layout drawings, loop drawings, blocks, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with customer specifications for hardware and cabinets.
• Apply knowledge of industry codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, IEC, NFPA).
• Assist the Project Engineer in customer witness testing of hardware/cabinet design functionality.
• Follow quality procedures and standard design processes.
• Develop detailed bills of material for panels.
• Specify parts and develop ordering drawings; update PE with job completion estimates and status.
• Perform performance‑based and economic evaluations, selection, application, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices of protection devices.
• Incorporate new design techniques to increase efficiency of cabinet engineering.
• Execute defect‑free designs in a timely manner.
• Work effectively in a global team environment.
• Understand electrical engineering concepts necessary for designing electrical cabinets.
• Understand NEMA/IP classifications.

Essential Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in field/projects/maintenance (instrumentation, control systems) in energy and/or oil & gas or a related field.
• Experience with document layout, formatting, and editing.
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English; able to structure and write technical material.
• Proven experience with MicroStation CAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and control systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 design control standards and utility protection/control design standards.
• Experience with LV control circuit, fuse, and circuit breaker coordination.
• Prior experience following quality assurance processes in a project schedule‑driven environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel for site surveys.
• Self‑starter who can work independently, prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.

Desired Attributes

• Strong preference for individuals experienced in the design of Bently Nevada machinery protection cabinets and control products.
• Knowledge of Bently Nevada machinery protection and management systems.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 design control standards.
• Prior experience with utility protection and control design standards.
• Understanding of LV control circuit, fuse and circuit breaker coordination.
• Prior experience following quality assurance processes while working in a schedule‑driven projects environment.
