GM Sales - KSA - Saudi National

The General Manager of Sales is responsible for developing the Sales Team and the yearly sales plan in line with the company's strategy for various market sectors to achieve yearly targets, maximum margins, and business objectives. The role involves developing and maintaining assigned key accounts while leading and supervising the sales team to achieve set budgets and organisational goals.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and achieve sales targets within various market sectors.
• Build a comprehensive and detailed understanding of client and market requirements alongside company objectives.
• Increase market share and actively exploit new markets.
• Review and update sales achievements against budgets on a monthly basis.
• Ensure all quotations and tenders are submitted on time and contain all necessary documentation.
• Negotiate, control, and award projects to remain in line with established targets.
• Refine and improve the quality of customer interaction, satisfaction, and retention by elevating standards and providing high-level facilities and technical skills.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing key accounts.

• Liaise with the Credit Controller to ensure all account payments are received by their due dates.

• Motivate and lead a high-performance team by attracting, recruiting, and retaining required team members.
• Enhance the work environment to promote and drive employee engagement and team effectiveness.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide staff feedback regarding strengths, areas for improvement, and development opportunities.
• Establish KPIs for individual units and ensure they align with the company's mission and vision.
• Identify key positions and ensure robust succession plans are in place for target staff.

• The jobholder is authorized to sign sales quotations and tenders that meet or exceed the price levels agreed upon by the respective regional VP.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• A Master's degree is preferred.

• 13 to 15 years of experience within a similar industry sector.
• At least 7 years of direct experience in Sales Management.

• Strong technical and product knowledge.
• Comprehensive awareness of contractual conditions, implications, and payment terms.
• Clear awareness of market trends, competitor activities, and industry dynamics.
• Deep understanding of market dynamics and core customer issues.
• Proficiency in database tools, software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and CRM systems.
