Job Overview

InterContinental The Red Sea, a new five-star oasis of barefoot luxury on Shura Island, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Security . Our stunning resort, featuring 178 luxury rooms and 32 suites, is surrounded by natural lagoons and mangroves. As the Director of Security, you will be responsible for leading our security department, ensuring the safety and security of all guests, colleagues, and resort assets. This is a critical leadership role responsible for creating a secure and tranquil environment that aligns with our world-class standards of hospitality.

Responsibilities

 

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures for the entire resort.
• Lead, manage, and train a high-performing security team, fostering a culture of vigilance, professionalism, and guest service.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of the property, including guest areas, event spaces, restaurants, and back-of-house operations, to identify and mitigate potential threats.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Manage all security-related incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and produce detailed reports for senior management.
• Act as the primary liaison with local law enforcement, government agencies, and emergency services.
• Develop and implement robust crisis management and emergency response plans, ensuring all team members are fully trained.
• Manage the security department's budget, including forecasting and resource allocation.
• Ensure the resort's full compliance with all local laws and regulations pertaining to safety and security.

Qualifications

 

• Proven experience in a senior security management role, preferably within a five-star hotel or luxury resort environment.
• Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a significant security team.
• Extensive knowledge of modern security principles, practices, and technologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues at all levels.
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to remain calm and authoritative in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of Arabic is highly advantageous.
• A relevant degree or professional certification in security management or a related field is preferred.
