Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to support the construction supervision and delivery of Hyperscale Data Center and Mission-Critical Infrastructure projects across the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) activities throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring that multidisciplinary design and construction models are effectively integrated, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements. The role requires experience working on large-scale data center projects where complex architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and mission-critical systems must be managed within a highly collaborative BIM environment. The BIM Coordinator will work closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure model accuracy, clash-free coordination, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Coordination & Model Management

• Coordinate BIM activities across all project disciplines including Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), ICT, ELV, and Civil works.
• Manage federated BIM models and ensure compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), employer information requirements, and project standards.
• Review, monitor, and validate consultant and contractor BIM deliverables throughout all project phases.
• Ensure BIM models are maintained, updated, and accurately reflect approved design changes and construction progress.
• Establish model coordination procedures and workflows to support efficient project delivery.
• Support implementation of BIM standards, protocols, naming conventions, and data management procedures.

Data Center BIM Coordination

• Coordinate BIM models associated with hyperscale data centers, including data halls, administration buildings, substations, central utility plants, generator facilities, cooling infrastructure, ICT networks, security systems, and supporting infrastructure.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination of mission-critical systems including power distribution networks, UPS systems, diesel generators, transformers, chilled water systems, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC units, fire protection systems, structured cabling, DCIM, BMS, and security infrastructure.
• Ensure coordinated integration of architectural, structural, MEP, and ICT systems to support data center reliability, redundancy, and operational performance requirements.
• Support constructability reviews and identify potential design, installation, and operational conflicts before construction activities commence.

Clash Detection & Model Reviews

• Conduct regular BIM coordination reviews and clash detection exercises using federated models.
• Identify, track, and manage design and construction clashes between disciplines.
• Coordinate resolution of clashes and interface issues with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare clash reports, coordination logs, and action trackers.
• Monitor closure of identified issues and maintain accurate records of coordination outcomes.

Construction Support

• Support construction supervision teams through model-based reviews and coordination activities.
• Verify BIM models align with approved construction documentation and shop drawings.
• Assist site teams in resolving design discrepancies, field coordination issues, and constructability challenges.
• Support development and review of temporary works models where required.
• Monitor model updates to reflect as-built conditions throughout project execution.

Digital Delivery & Reporting

• Generate model-based reports, visualizations, and project coordination outputs.
• Support BIM-based project tracking, quantity extraction, and progress monitoring activities.
• Maintain project Common Data Environment (CDE) and ensure document control procedures are followed.
• Prepare BIM progress reports and coordination summaries for project management and client review.
• Support digital handover and asset information requirements at project closeout.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, project managers, design teams, and construction supervision personnel.
• Facilitate BIM coordination meetings and technical workshops.
• Provide technical support regarding BIM standards, workflows, and project requirements.
• Assist in developing BIM best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

Here's what you'll need

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification in BIM Management or Digital Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience in BIM coordination, design coordination, or digital engineering.
• Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience on Hyperscale Data Centers, Tier III/Tier IV Data Centers, Mission-Critical Facilities, or Digital Infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models involving Architectural, Structural, MEP, ICT, and specialist systems.
