Head Waiter

We are seeking an experienced Head Waiter to lead the restaurant service team and deliver excellent guest service. The successful candidate will supervise daily service, maintain hotel standards, and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

Location: Jeddah.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise waiters during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.

• Allocate service stations, conduct pre-shift briefings, and ensure the team is ready for service.

• Welcome guests, assist with seating, and respond professionally to requests and complaints.

• Take accurate orders and ensure food and beverages are served promptly and correctly.

• Maintain strong knowledge of menus, ingredients, allergens, and daily specials.

• Communicate dietary requirements and allergies clearly to the kitchen and follow hotel procedures.

• Check table settings, restaurant cleanliness, staff grooming, and service presentation.

• Train and coach team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and guest interaction.

• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to manage service timing and resolve delays.

• Recommend menu items and beverages to enhance the guest experience and support sales.

• Ensure accurate billing, payment handling, and use of the point-of-sale system.

• Monitor service supplies and report shortages, breakages, and maintenance issues.

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and hotel health and safety procedures.

• Complete opening, closing, and shift handover duties.

Experience and Qualifications Required

• A minimum of 3 years of food and beverage service experience , preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant.

• At least 1 year of experience as a Head Waiter, Team Leader, or Senior Waiter with supervisory responsibilities .

• Proven ability to supervise a team and maintain high service standards during busy periods.

• Experience handling guest complaints and special requests professionally.

• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and billing procedures.

• A hospitality qualification or relevant service training is preferred.

English Language Requirement

• Good spoken and written English is required.

• Ability to communicate confidently with international guests, explain menu items, take accurate orders, and handle requests and complaints.

• Ability to understand written instructions and communicate clearly with colleagues.

• Additional languages are an advantage.
