About the role
An established multi-site manufacturing business is looking for a Regional Quality Manager to take ownership of quality governance across its operating plants and central functions. Reporting into senior quality leadership and acting as a senior deputy within the function, you will embed a consistent group-wide quality framework, lift standards across every site, and strengthen audit governance, certification readiness and enterprise-level risk management.

Key responsibilities

 

• Translate the group's overarching quality strategy into practical, region-specific rollout plans
• Bring consistency to how the quality management system is applied across all plants
• Steer cross-functional quality programmes that support both operational and commercial goals
• Identify enterprise-wide risks that could affect product certification, compliance or customer acceptance
• Build and own the annual audit calendar so all sites and functions are covered systematically
• Run complex multi-site audits and lead investigations into high-risk issues
• Consolidate findings across locations and ensure corrective actions are applied uniformly
• Maintain a central view of non-conformance trends and recurring quality gaps
• Prepare sites for third-party audits and surveillance visits
• Carry out gap assessments against relevant international standards and regulatory requirements
• Roll out updates to national and international standards consistently across the group
• Act as the point of contact for certification bodies, inspection agencies and external auditors

Continuous improvement

• Lead structured improvement programmes grounded in Lean and Six Sigma methods
• Drive down defect, repair and rejection rates while improving first-pass yield
• Harmonise root-cause methodologies so every plant investigates problems the same way
• Benchmark strong performance and replicate it across other regions
• Take ownership of significant customer complaints and product-failure cases
• Scrutinise the quality of root-cause analysis and the robustness of corrective actions
• Ensure lessons learned are shared and adopted across all manufacturing sites
• Report complaint patterns and emerging systemic risks to senior leadership
• Stand up group-level reporting covering defects, non-conformances, audit outcomes, customer satisfaction and site-failure data
• Produce consolidated quality performance summaries for senior stakeholders, and develop leading indicators that flag issues before they recur
• Keep the group quality manual and supporting procedures current, and align documentation practices across regions
• Uphold compliance across calibration, testing and qualification requirements, and introduce digital tools into quality processes where they add value
• Mentor and develop plant-level quality managers and engineers
• Shape a structured quality capability framework across sites
• Champion quality-awareness and culture-change initiatives
• Own and manage the quality training budget
• Escalate systemic quality risks affecting certification or customer acceptance
• Mandate corrective action on cross-plant non-conformities
• Recommend halting processes that present material compliance risks

What we're looking for

• Degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical or a quality-related discipline)
• Certified Lead Auditor
• Around 9–10 years' quality experience, ideally within a multi-site industrial or manufacturing environment
• Solid working knowledge of international standards such as ISO and API
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
• Track record managing quality systems across multiple sites
• Exposure to external certification audits
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and undertake detailed inspections
• Familiar with laboratory testing requirements and machine calibration
• Confident influencing quality behaviours at every level and driving change
• Strong systems thinking, strategic problem-solving and executive-level communication
